A: 1 Lumen = 1 foot-candle; 1 Lux = 1 metre-candle.
1 square meter is about 10 square feet, 1 Lumen = 10 Lux.
1 Lux is only 1/10 of a Lumen because the same amount of light on 1 square foot now has to fall on 10 square feet, so it is diluted 10 times.
